Anti-HIV medications can’t cure HIV or prevent you passing it on to other people. But they can be very effective at stopping the virus multiplying in the body and damaging your immune system cells.
Anti-HIV medication works by decreasing HIV viral load and allowing CD4 count to increase. This allows the immune system to do its job properly and helps prevent AIDS from developing.
